About a week and half ago I bought a bar off ebay. Seller was great, shipped it quickly. It was in Indiana, I live in Illinois.
I've been tracking it since the seller shipped it. It was sent Parcel post.
Here's (in order) where it's been....

First.... processed in Indiana
then.... Iowa
then.... Pennsylvania
then.... New Jersey
then.... Pennsylvania (again)
then.... New Jersey (again)
now..... Missouri

I wonder where else it will end up. :dizzy:

Scenic route? :msp_unsure: Two stops in Penn looking for bar oil?

Had one last year going to Vermont, went to Puerto Rico first, then to California before getting there 9 days later.

I thought that was just in Canada. If I send something to the next town, it goes to Halifax, Nova Scotia, 5 hours away, to be sorted and then back here.

3 or 4 days. I can get stuff sent from the US just as fast.

it didn't stop in penn for bar oil,, it stopped at wiggs twice looking for bar oil and didn't find any :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

i had the same thing happen to me 1 time,, it was all over the country for some stupid reason

I have mentioned before how it takes forever for things to leave Ohio ...

But lately I've shipped an article to Alabama and another to California. In both cases, a status shown was 'prepared for international shipment' ... LOL

Beware of the Kansas City, Kansas Sort Facility. I had a bar circle the drain there eight days while I waited for delivery. Going to the St. Joseph Main Post Office with my complaint did no good.

KC, Kan. is 50 mi. south of here................................................................

Ya here's a dumb one. I asked how come it took so long to ship a letter, on the Island, I live on Vancouver island, they said that, it all goes now to Vancouver first, that's on the mainland, to be sorted then shipped back to Vancouver island for delivery, how stupid can you get???? If it were a private business, they'd already be out of business.

Yup, That is lost.

I started to make a thread just like this a few weeks ago. I had exactly the same sentiment as the OP. What has happened to the Post Office? There is no rime or reason to any of it either. I purchased something from California and it arrived in 2 days via First Class, and then I ship something Priority mail and it is never seen again. When talking to the guys at the post office they act as if "well there is nothing we can do." So I told one of them one day -- look you are the only company in the world that thumbs its nose at its customers over your poor service and lack of quality -- one day you won't have to worry because you won't have a job. Most of the responses I have gotten is "sorry, there is nothing we can do..."

i have found if you insure something for a pretty good amount then it will end up lost just about every time,, thats why i always ship ups,,, if it is lost you can almost be certain its in atlanta getting ready to be auctioned off

Yup, I'm on PEI, send a letter to the next door neighbor, it goes to the mainland first.

Duh.

Thats why I say pay extra for Priority. If you go cheap with Parcel post it gets put on what ever is available for a round about trip or just sets on stand by waiting and waiting. :dizzy: Info straight from my post master.

They talk at the local post office about so many feet of packages arriving.

I would assume that Parcel Post would have to wait if Priority fills the van like Jerimiah Johnson says?

We talk about USPS but I've had my UPS stuff go back and forth across the nation several times before being delivered.
