On Dec 3 rd the American pickers show will have a section of it where they go and look at a bunch of old chainsaws somewhere out in Oregon. Just letting you guys know so you can go check it out next Monday:rock::rock::rock: Steve

I will watch the 12/3/12 episode with great interest :msp_mellow:

The show is based about 35 miles up river from me. Part of the pilot episode was shot just a few miles away. If anyone saw the pilot episode and remember ole Danny Bean in the bibs well he is a good guy. He has shared quite a bit of info about the show and there is a reason why I have not let them go through the 600 saws in the barns here.

So......

Whats the reason?

Very simply because I believe in telling the truth and not staging for "TV reality". If you show up here wanting to buy saws you will not leave empty handed

It seems all TV for that matter reality shows one has to take with a grain of salt on how they are actually run. After all they are there more for the point of entertainment than to show something viable.

IF you watch pickers some times they drive a long ways and only pick-up two things at a stop and common sense tells you none of us could do that and make a living with even with not havings a store so there is no way they could ether.

I think it would be interesting to see them drunk and let them do a tell all on the how show. Then you might get the real deal:hmm3grin2orange:

you guys know all of those shows are stagged, who in their right mind would sell anything for half price when they could easily sell at auction or Ebay etc. Pawn Stars is another one that is highly set up. Also they all make $$ per episode. It is fun to watch though.

I can see it now.... "Frank! Look over here, it's a Poulan Wild Thang...that's worth a $150 dollar bill right there!" :cool2:

I thought of a reality show years ago,

Was going to call it REAL FISHIN' with mo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Skunked Again!

Figured no one would watch a half hour of catching nothing.

But it could be a hoot even without fish, know what I mean;)

Hey that sounds like a deal. Maybe I can pick up Wiggs and we can head out to your place. I'm gonna see if he can dig up a few jars from his back yard. I gotta check my "spare change" sock - but if you're dealing we should be wheelin right? :cool2:

Those guys were in Western Pa. last summer filming. I met them on the street outside of an artificial limb store. You may have seen that episode. Anyhow, I said hi, and the skinny one says to me. You gotta know where theres some bikes. (I look the part.) I was just coming back from doing some cutting and had a load of firewood. Anyhow, I make some calls and they get set up to go look over a few freinds garages. They went over the next day and looked around. They didn't buy very much, but were really cool guys. They told my friend how much they should be asking for lots of the bikes and parts they weren't interested in buying. We partied long into the nite. They drank Old Miliwakie if you can believe that.

I told them there that I was into old chainsaws and chainsaw stuff, and that I have seen in past shows some old saws in the background that looked pretty interesting, and were probablyworth as much or more than some of the stuff they were looking at.Wonder if they got that idea from me. Yeh I know, pics or it didn't happen. I have one, but I can't get them on this site.
