I can't believe your insurance guy gave you the green light with that install.:deadhorse::hmm3grin2orange:

I started with a Johnson Energy Systems,

but when the fire box started to warp and crack I decided to upgrade to a leaders wood furnace

Then, a few days later I decided the Leaders was to big for my little 1,728 sq ft house! :bang:So I redone the fire box (hehehe I said box) on the Johnson. Sooooooo out comes the Leaders in goes the Johnson and every thing is good once again

Heck yeah he did! Didn't ya see the cert. stickers on that baby in the last two photo's?!? The kuuma and PSG boys are over on the "looking for a wood furnace" thread trying to convince us all how hard it is to get certs. on a furnace, and here, our very own no-BS-git-er-dun-homegrown-engineer spidey, whips one out, no problem! :D

You better get that insurance guy to hand write it and get it signed. I guarantee you if your house burns down they won't pay a dime just from you getting your insurance man's head knod.

So... I guess you're in the insurance business then?
Sure does seem like we have a lot of insurance experts on this board.

No. I'm just trying to help you out. Cross your t's and dot your i's! I have read my insurance policy though.

His build and install looks just as good or better as some commercial units. Seems if they "allow" any wood burning at all, his would pass muster OK. Non combustible surfaces, built good, good install, etc...looks swell. Up on blocks is a meh, good as anything else. If the guy in the suit with the nodding head looked at it and didn't change the policy to disallow it, or cancel outright, or say something, etc..they would have a hard time denying a claim. And unless the thing just slap fell apart, I can't see even how a random house fire could start with his build, at that furnace point anyway.

Is there anything specific you see there that might make it questionable? Just asking, pics are never perfect and it is easy to miss something.

Art, why does your furnace burn all year? Non-stop since 2010? Do you heat water with it too?

Nice place you have.

Yes. Domestic hot water. I have an almost unlimited supply of firewood, so why not? Better than playing the oil man.

Thanks, I built the house myself with the help of friends. On 15 acres in the mountains of central PA. :msp_thumbup:
