It belongs to a customer BTW and he's already sunk twice as much in it than its worth.
Its an 08 Super.

Small blasting cabinet would make short work of it.

It looks to be mostly cobwebs along with a little white death.

I had a twin cylinder oil pan that had been outside for ten years, looked nasty as hell, made it look like a new one.

Sure, heck you might check a few local shops, they could do it for you cheap, I am sure. If not, I'll gladly do it.

Thats a very generous offer!!
I have access to a sand blast cabinet, but I dont know anyone with bead media.
We have one at work where our fleet maintenance employees use Black Beauty to clean tractor trailer parts. I'm thinking it would be a bit too course....no?

Nah, it would be quicker, just go easy and quick, it'll look like new.

Yeah some of these guys act like these parts are perishable like potato salad!!!!

The flywheel would probably be fine as well.

If you don't have access to a blasting cabinet, chuck up a wire wheel and go to town. You'll spend less time then you have in this thred.

Blast it. Tape up cam for the points and plug the other side with something suitable. Take it easy on the magnet side. Hold the blaster nozzle back about 18-20 inches. I clean alot of delicate stuff up with a cabinet that is as large as an average tool shed and has crazy force if adjusted up that high. A commercial blast cabinet also typically has air regulators to control the air pressure and media feed.
