Not to get all political and what not... the problem has more to do with politicians only believing what they are told, and only talking to people with money.

the long term effects of ethonal are currently unknown, however we know that its based largely on corn, corn is a terrible producer of ethanol, in fact not much is a good producer of ethonal, its a very energy demanding process, lots of heat. The really funny thing about E is all the bunny huggers are loving it because its a "green energy" they do not take into account that the power stations that run the E processors are powered largely by coal...

To get 1/5 of whiskey at 80 proof ish it takes about a gallon of mash, to get 1/5 of 200 proof you need approximately 3 gallons of mash, now imagine how much corn (figure 1/4-1/2 of the mash is corn) and water its going to take to process 1,000,000 gallons of E everyday? Not to mention it takes a day or two just to distill the alcohol out of the water. All while holding the mash at something like 185 degrees farenheit. Mean while out in the midwest corn farmers (cough CON AGRA, corporations...) are griping about not having enough money and being a poor poor farmer, and we just need to have a little more land... and two brand new 200 hp tractors that are radio controlled, and enough seed to plant 4000 acres+. Anybody else see where this is going. When in history has the lowley "farmer" ever had this much political clout... Ethanol has to be one of the worst things to happen in this country... its just not apparent yet...

I'm done now, for the record actual farmers I'm all sorts of ok with, its the corporations masquerading as poor farmers that bothers me.

Just cause I'm from darlictown doesn't mean I've actually used a still... recently... or ever...

Yes, the root of the problem is like you stated. The politicians are definatley the problem. If they wouldn't listen to Con Agra and tell them to either make money or go under with no help and walk away the problem would take care of itself. But the politicians are in it for themselfs, not the countries benefit. Just like the government giving money to farmers for NOT growing a certain crop, instead of letting the market decide how much is needed. I guess we are kinda saying the same thing just in a different way. Anyway I'm out, back on topic!!

Dagmars says I have to have a boat, in there yard...

Port of Everrot says ya no problem, fuel dock is past the yacht club... prices are reasonable too... yacht clubs, golf clubs, country clubs, I find them all endlessly amusing... you should see the stares I get when I wander by one of these "fine" establishments...

Non-ethanol fuel

Don't just take the station owners word for it, we ran in to that here and after testing the fuel our self found E in what was said (station owner was told) to be E free.

Not 100% on the stations on this site either. See above.

Bottom line. Test it personally.

I'm not sure how it will work in Wa. State, but the stations in Mich. that carry ethanol-free fuel do not have it in their normal pumps. They usually have an above-ground polyethylene tank which is labelled "Recreational Fuel" & has the octane rating listed on the pump meter. We have E-free fuel available in octane ratings from 87-93 depending on where you get it. It is usually found at marinas & in areas where snowmobileing is popular. Since you have always had E-free fuel at your pumps until now, it may take awhile before your stations begin carrying the "Recreational Fuel". It would sure be a good idea to make a strong effort to get the word out that there would be a serious market for "the good stuff"!

Just took this last week at the fuel stop where my company fuels all its rigs. Still listed as non ethanol. I'll pop down to my regular station and see if it's still selling pure premium as well..

No more ethanol-free gas in Stanwood

By SARAH ARNEY Staff Reporter

More ethanol in gasoline may be good for the air and lungs, but not so good for farmers, fishermen, bikers or your average homeowner. About five years ago, the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Board mandated adding 10 percent ethanol to gasoline in the effort to prevent air pollution. Recently the mandate was increased to 15 percent.

New Wa. State fuel recipe: 10% corn, 5% Mary J. Wanna. (Next up 10% potatoes)

I love this State. You can marry your partner, and light up a joint on the street corner in the same afternoon. All legal.:dizzy:

The 'educated' elite

There is no moral substance to the elitist who thinks he can earn a living with his brilliance.... in defrauding the public. That includes the transplanted 'enviro-mentalists' who actually welcome care-less developers and destroy the quality of life we value.

Why has dyno results on flex fuel cars prove that it makes more power. There has been several high performance magazines where people have converted their cars to e-85 with good end results. They do end up using more fuel when running e-85, but bad comes with good. As far as running lean; re-jet. I'm all for experimentation. If it doesn't end up well, at least it would be worth a shot just to see right?

alcohol has a high oxygen content. think small shot of nitros. still don't make it good for engines.

Hey, quit knocking my state. You don't like it, don't live here.

Now, on topic, I just got ethanol free gas today for my saw. They said they were going to keep on getting it as long as possible.

The Barbie Saw is running nicely.

Good you can still get it down there

I'm heading to Deming this week end and going to drive into Canada to get some real gas when im that close to the boarder for lawn mowers and such
