if it just dieing turn up the idle speed on the side of the saw .on the clutch right buy the air filter theirs 3 holes{just like a girl:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:} 2 on side by side and one under it . take a small flat head screw driver stick it in the bottem hole and turn it to the right till it will idle . {ps keep saw started and finger on the trigger just enough so it dosent die let it off just a bit to see if it will idle if not keep turning her up more ]

What the hell kind of girls do you know :msp_scared:

here is another video of the saw running. can anyone tell me if it sounds "normal"?...

The idle sounds like my 440's. The 1128 series saws have a rough idle because the flywheel is on the light side in the interests of quick acceleration. Chain may be too tight. FWIW, mine were tuned at WOT so that they 4-stroke in the cut until warmed up and then clean up to 2-stroke.

Thanks! I had just tightened it down, because it initially came loose. I have since loosened it a bit.

Sounds good ........... chain is too tight !!

You should be able to roll the chain around the bar with your fingers while having the chain hug the bar on the bottom, when tensioned properly cold.

Hot and it will loosen up a little

Congrats, glad you got it running. I had a feeling it was something simple.... Replacing the throttle trigger should get it to stay in high idle if nothing else is broken.

Make sure you don't leave the break on after you start it. :)

Turn the LA screw in a few turns and maybe the low out an 1/8 or so. Once you get the saw to idle, read up on tuning...

Saw is running extremely well and I'm able to get it started with ease using your method. However, I do think it's time to fix the lever. I just wanted to confirm, it is generally the throttle trigger?

It sounds rich but but its young you want it that way for the first couple of tanks. nice job

can anyone help me in getting the lever to stay in the third position?

one of mine did that once ,under the plastic on the black shaft that has the on off lever ,to the right there is a lever that breaks off ,that pulls the carb to high idle ,may not be it ,but something to look at ,makes it hard to start when cold when that lever is missing /broken

That's exactly what it was. Part is on order. Thanks for the help!

Replaced the switch selector and it starts like a dream now. this saw is running amazing and sounds even better. I am ready to put it to use and bought a new bar and chain: 20" rollomatic es and 3/8, .063 rapid chain. the bar and chain i'm replacing were 3/8, .050. I am having trouble turning the new chain on the bar freely when everything is tightened down (when it's not tightened down it's easier'ish to turn). because of this i am a little nervous to start the saw with the new bar and chain because i can feel it binding. any tips?

Did you check or replace the drive ring or sprocket?
