There's nothing better than a good Husky vs. Stihl showdown. I don't think the Ford vs. Chevy debate can touch it but I will save that one for another forum. With that said, let the show go on. One second I just need...:givebeer::popcorn: ok, I'm good!

Most of the showdowns are full of ignorance and made up BS.

OP, welcome to the circus known as Arboristsite. FWIW, I have never heard of a "fast bar"; "Fast chains" is a different story. Post #13 may be as close as you get here. I would tell you to post in the Hot Saw forum but you will probably get more of the same, if not worse. Hopefully we have debunked the myth and you can sleep well tonight.

Yup AS is quite entertaining at times just have thick skin, take nothing personal, and if someone flings poop at you fling it back. Great people here.

If you want good entertainment frequent the WTF!! thread.

Ah crap, lol, I forgot about the Tech Lites. Which laminated bars are actually manufactured by Husqvarna?

Its the shorter 13" and 15" if I remember right. They say made in Norway or Sweden on them.

Yes thats the rumor. The Techlite is Husky made but far from "flimsy"

Are those available stateside? I've enquired before at one of my local dealers and was told he didn't have the 13" available.

I think what the OP is meaning is ....
He is having Husky ENVY... Those of us that know SWEDISH PERFECTION, and enjoy Swedish Music...... know what a saw feels like.
Thus we have LONGER BARS...

If the articles you're reading are related to race saws then they probably mean a bar with belly, that is, a bar with a pronounced curve rather than a straight bar. Race saws run much higher chain speeds, and easily throw the chain off the bar. Bars with a lot of belly keep the chain on better. You find this on some very long bars as well, for the same reason.
