I ordered these from my dealer after finding the thread about the kit. Stihl calls this a "chain catcher kit", it is part # 1135 650 7750. Cost me around $38. I should have got a metal clutch cover also but I have the plastic one now. Just thougt I would share some info like others have helped me.

I am looking for dual dogs for my 280. Do the 029 and 280 have the same bolt pattern? ;) :hmm3grin2orange: :biggrinbounce2:

Those new dawgs on your 029 make the saw look really cool. I like the way they look. I asked the question of putting dawgs on my 029S to a few AS members. The usual response was: "what a waste of time" and "why the heck does a saw of that size need them?" Oh well, even if the "bark" is more than the saws "bite" it's all about what YOU as the owner likes to do.

I'd just like to add that though I don't have them on my saws at this time that I like the feel of extra stability that dual dogs add when cutting sideways, me really really likes that! :greenchainsaw:
And they look great too! (now ya can poke two holes in yer appendages instead of just one :p, jk,jk )

Oh go buy a pair, they have a better chain catcher, protects the chain cover, And they just look good. It's not like you putting a pair of big dogs on.
So why would any body say it's a waste of time.

I thought so too. IMO Stihl likes to suck extra money out of you.
But by the way A.S. people are buying these dogs up maybe Stihl would start to think to add them on by pouplar demand.

Ha.. AS guys aren't even on the radar... I get MAYBE one customer a year that wants dual dogs on other than an 044 and above...

great addition

I used the oh 29 today. The dawgs seem to help out pretty good. As stated in another post they really help cutting sideways. Just the plain look of them is worth $38:chainsaw:

Now I'm off to find a set for my echo 346:eek: :crazy1: :jester:
