Well guys my debate ended today. One of my equipment rental salesmen came out today to the jobsite and made me an offer I couldnt turn down. The new 361 will be here tomorrow!:biggrinbounce2: :D :blob2: Ill try to get some pics posted in the next day or two. Thanks for helping me make my decision.

361...Yeah..Yahhh!

Congrats on your new saw there...you're gonna like this saw a lot. It's a really nice general purpose saw and runs great the way it comes. However, a little muffler mod, some RSC chain, is apparently what the doctor orders...for starters anyways. I still have to mod mine...hopefully I beat you to it. You have me curious about this deal you received...could you shed some light?

Yup...AS talked me into a 361 too! Great saw no doubt about it!

My only regret was my ignorance in thinking I can be happy with it serving as my BIG saw....

The search continues....

Darn

You answered the question about the "Deal" while I was posting my question...I saw it just a tad too late. $575, you still did alright! enjoy.

One of the better parts of this deal is the fact that these guys are on my jobsites 3-4 days a week. If I need service work all I have to do is throw the saw in the truck and take it to work with me. They will take it from there.

Hard to beat that!

You won't be hauling it to get repaired much , if any. That saw seems to be indestructable. Good choice.

you did good!!!!!!

It wasnt as sweet as I made it sound, I guess. I checked at four other dealers and all four were $599.99 + tax. I got it for $575 + tax. 25 bucks is 25bucks though.

they are great little saws according to everything I read here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep us posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:chainsaw: :chainsaw: :chainsaw:

I was at the stihl shop a few days ago and picked up my first 361 to check it out.
maybe I'm in the 1% of stihl owners, but man that thing felt and looked cheesey.
hate those silly little springs too. give me good rubber AV mounts on a stihl!
oh well, more for you guys.

Ralph,

You put it in wood and it was still cheesy?

I was thrown at first by a "wobbly" feel to the AV but I guess I got used to it!

no, didn't cut with it, was on the display rack, looked it over while they were pulling my parts to see what the fuss was all about. I have a few opinions about the fuss thing, but not in the mood to stir tonite.

Buy up all the current "old" models of the saws you can.. rubber is a thing of the past... ;)

You get used to the springs real quick - they are just "different", consistent from summer to winter, and easier on the hands. I don't have any real problem with the rubber mounts though..
