I want to purchase this 201TC off of someone and I am having trouble determining if the saw is m tronic or not.

1- Did Stihl make regular carb version of the 201T?
2- Serial number in pics appear to be either : 184 888 040 or 184 888 010 (pretty sure it's this one). Can someone decode it?
3- On the manual for the 201T C-M the serial number starts with 1145
4- There is a hole right about where the carb needles would be ocated to tune it. Is that an indicator?

Thank you for the help

Whats makes you say that (not arguing your statement) ?
On the non mtronic 201 the idle stop screw is accessed through that hole in the side of the air filter cover. The fuel mixture screws are accessed through two holes in the handle near the idle adjustment screw. No mixture screws on your saw, plus the little access door for the diagnostic cable tells me that saw is mtronic. Another way to tell is on the multi function switch. If there’s a I, O, and a triangle it’s mtronic.

Yeah, those handles do not interchange. So, if it is Mtronic it will have the triangle.

I'm not a Stihl guy but the T stands for top handle, C stands for comfort and M stands for Mtronic. So if the badge is correct, it's not M tronic.
For some models at least, the sticker on the cover may say C but it could actually be Mtronic. There's a thread somewhere describing that happening on the MS 261, and I saw one myself like that last week.
