Looking good!
Wish I could have had that to cut up my sunflower stalks yesterday!

btw - Let's get this out of the way first.....we all know that 'need' has nothing to do with anybody getting another chainsaw in here! :greenchainsaw:

it's a good bar but the paint does't last on them.

hard metal though.

i used it today.this thing better really wake up when it breaks in.so far i'm not impressed over a 372.i just built a 372 with a big bore kit that i ported mildly.it feels just as strong if not stronger.my 371s feel just as strong as well.even a little faster.

time and a few tanks will tell.the dolmar may be for sale.

Gb

I'm gonna put a GB on my 385 when I get it, nice bars. I gotta save the money though, been spending it.:( :greenchainsaw:

Nice saw. I plan on a 6401 converted to the 7900 myself. Have to do it the less expensive way. That new saw sure is nice. Please keep us posted on the saws performance and your thoughts on user friendliness. I like it because it really fills a gap left open by stihl. It has a very good power to weight ratio that is not really touched by others. Good luck with the new saw.

Oh and if you do want to sell :)

Omg

Now that my friend is a PERTY sight bro... Welcome to the club eh???

:clap: :cheers::givebeer:

thanks!

at least it's not the ms361 club!:hmm3grin2orange:

i'm gonna run it tomorrow some more.see what happens.it is a 24" bar but that size saw should run it no problem.

Are the bars on both saws the same??? Your not running a 24" bar on the 7900 and a 20" on the 372 are you??? If you are, you can't compare it dude. I only want to make sure that you are going equal to equal. Longer bar slows chain speed. If your running the 24" on the 7900 make sure your using the 8 tooth sprocket, not 7... Also, if you've done a mod to the 372 with big bore kit and ported/polished p/c then your not running a stock 372 now are ya??? We're just talking stock saws here bro. Also, did you get one with all the emissions crap in the muffler??? That has got to go. With a 24" bar after running the 395XP I wasn't super impressed with the 7900, but put a 20" or so on each of them, and I run a 7 tooth sprocket cause I like the torque, not speed, and the 7900 killed it and I was super impressed. It's all about the setup. Matter of fact, your 372 is pushing as much hp as the 385 now. Play around a little bit dude. My 7900 is every bit as strong as the 395 in wood up to 24". After that, well, ya know, you still can't beat displacement. The 7900 will turn the pants off my 56MagII, but put them in 36" wood with 32" bars and it's not even close... 7900 did get quite a bit stronger after it's been run for a few tanks also... Rock on bro...

with the crap in the muffler?the 372 with the big bore kit has a 20".my newer stock 372 has the same 24" bar and chain as the dolmar.it feels stronger but it's broken it.i put an 8 tooth on my 371 with a 20" and i didn't notice any difference in speed but it seemed like less torque.what part of NY are you in?

It sure looks good, but I have a problem with getting a relatively light saw, and then put an extra-heavy (GB) bar on it - jmo.....:greenchainsaw:

I'm as far North and East as you can go in NY, just on the foothills of the adirondaks bro. The crap in the muffler is epa stuff that you should prolly get rid of, lol... If your 372 has a big bore kit and has been worked it's prolly pushing the same hp as the 7900, with a bar 4" shorter and the same hp you'd see a huge difference. As far as the torque goes, sitting side by side a 372 vs. a 7900 stock for stock both with the same bars, it's not even close, there's something wayyyyy wrong there. My buddy had a 372, a 394, and a 395XP. The 7900 was faster than any of them with a 20" bar, with the 24 it slowed it down a little and the 394 and 395 took over. My buddy is die hard husky, even let me run his Walkerized 395XP, man that was fun. But the 7900 will walk all over any 372 out there stock. Tach it, run it, check it out. Where'd you get it dude???
