That dude had enough.
Wonder how many dozers look like that in peoples barns right now .
I don't have a dozer if anyone was wondering.
At least not yet...
Now? Probably a lot more than anyone thinks, lol
**** is getting ready to hit bigass fans….

Yep, I bet so.
I been looking at this, be a nice step up from the .17 for plinking of vermin at the house. Nice because it takes the same mags as the savage I already have and he's including extra 10 rounders.
I'd still like a nice 22lr sometime, just waiting for the right deal to pop up.

Who knew that cutting veneer would be so difficult... I've been tripping over this pile of red oak veneer in my shop for at least 15 years. It is past the time to get rid of it! Each sheet is about 14"-15" wide and 10' long. The pile was about 13" thick. I tried the reciprocating saw and that was a disaster... it simply ripped the veneer apart length wise. I figured I'd try the 170. It was still amazingly difficult to cut... To a lessor degree I still have the splitting problem but it will cut... slowly. It would take forever to clamp thin piles together with cauls and cut it with the circular saw so I didn't even try that... Maybe the 661 with an RS chain would do the trick? 😉

cutting wood like that is best done with a sharp box blade and a true square... or straight edge.

That is now "old Moscow road" Only been down it a couple times. This whole area is fascinating, steep hills that looke like sand dunes and really are 'dirt dunes' Wind blown dirt from the Central area blown into dues after the glaciers retreated, only a few miles to the middle of channeled scablands, Deep canyons, big rivers, mouintains not far away. I love it.
down a bit from where we lived... when those heavy rains came... we would go down and the creeks that had turned into roaring rivers. muddy tan, white caps and running fast! Dad would not let us kids get too close to the edge...

just like this

Smart dad...

Well, I flew into Charlotte NC, and some generous person in the airport gave me, at no charge, the whu-hon flu! AND, it really kicked myazz for several weeks.

Although I feel pretty good now, I have no stamina and have only been doing little piddly jobs, but with sunny 75 out, I decided to run my BSM.. So, off I go to get this "big ugly" and load it on the mills deck,

Resized-20230920-152821-S.jpg

I need construction lumber, so I milled 3-1/2" and 5-1/2" thick slabs, off the log,

Resized-20231024-151120-S.jpg

I then load them back on the deck, up on edge, and start taking off the lumber I need,

I don't care about any "wayne" on the boards, as all of this lumber will be used to build firewood boxes, and it's not important at all if it's not hi-grade lumber,

Resized-20231024-163404-S.jpg

and here's what I got from that log,

It took me a looooong time to get that lumber as I had to stop and rest over and over but at least I got it done!

SR
sounds like a tough time! :nofunny: good to see you are just doing light-duty work! your name did pop up in the thread now n then...

:givebeer:

C'mon man...
They still gotta charge me for the 8" they shorted me on the last line item, it was supposed to be 48, not 40".
This gets most my trim done, still probably do something to separate the walls from the gable to make it easier around all the openings. It will get wainscoting all the way around and both sidewalls completed . I probably should have bought a roll of metal and "barrowed"(see what I did there @H-Ranch 😆) a brake. But I'm already behind the amount of time it took to do all my trees here, it should be sided already.

Dang man, thats ridiculous.

Seems late for first snow. Many years back in northern Wyoming we'd watch it work down the Bighorns during September, usually made it to Buffalo by 10/1 as I recall.
i skied Crystal Mtn, WA one winter... on Halloween Day. lift ticket for the day: BOO in orange

Doing my part to get to 100K
Cut and bucked up a good sized ash to a bud's spec 20-24"

We used a splitter for the top yesterday, but I went back today and got most of the trunk (4 rounds) with the 8 pounder. 3 rounds to go yet. Whew.
Gotta love ash, 3 hits and split!

Prayers for those in Maine.
if all the AS subscribers posted here daily mite could do it near daily...

Tapping into the wealth of vehicle knowledge here... Does any company make a decent direct mount trickle battery charger that will work with side mount batteries? I've looked for hours but have little faith in an off brand $10 unit... the only one that by description will work.

There is a parasitic drain in my mother's 2001 Chevy Blazer that cannot be found... This happened before and everything that could be un-enabled was un-enabled and a couple grounds were replaced... That worked for a couple years and now the problem is back. At age 88 now is not the time to buy her a new vehicle... After driving the Blazer for 22 years she'd never figure a new one out...
Schumacher makes a nice digital 12-v charger for any position. 110-v. i really like it and use it all the time up at the ranch. lead shortening a breeze for anyone adept with a solder gun, etc... unit is about 4x6 or 5x7ish...

the co has gone stylish on their current units. mine is similar to this one

How about one that plugs into the cigarette lighter, my buddy got a cheap one like that for his older mother as it was very easy for her to operate

In your experience will the rings actually work between the battery and the cable connectors? I read comments on several listed that they didn't fit the side mounts? Some indicated they were only intended to fit under the pinch bolt for the top mount cables...

P.S. This is another one of those black holes that has all but kept me off this site for months! LOL
make an adapter. thinking of getting one of those lighter charger. i like the read out of battery readiness.

They only work if the lighter/ power point is hot when the ignition is in the off position. You really need to check before buying one and also remember the charge current will need to be pretty small as to not fry the wires that are often pretty small gauge.
