Hey guys, I decided to keep the 024 (it's like brand new) At some point I need to find the age of it. I had the local shop order me a 16in bar sprocket and pico chain for it. Can I ask if they got the right parts or if you guys would have done something different.

OLD
bar 3003 000 6821
Sprocket 1121\00
green chain super dull

NEW
bar 3003 000 8913
Sprocket 1121 160 2900b
Picco Chain

Can't say how old your 024 is but I can tell you they came out in 1982 and there were different versions of it. The last 024 out was the 024AVES and it was discontinued in 1989. The 026 took over the 024 in the line up in 1988 and is still made today as the MS260.

well.... It was made up to 2000 as the "Super" then became the MS240... but not in the USA though...

Give us a serial number for a better date fix.

Are you in CAlifornia or CAnada...?

024 evolved to MS240. It is advertised as a saw with extra longliving engine, probably more durable than MS260...

The MS240 is still made, the same engine size as the original 024AV.....:)
