I'd try to smooth that out and see how it looks.
Where that is, you should be able to polish it out fairly easily without raising the port too much.
You might even be able to delete the base gasket and still not lose any dwell.
Did you check the squish before you disassembled it???

Im thinking smooth it out a little and use it!
 
I would not sell the saw with that cylinder on it (without disclosing,) but you got nothing to loose by trying to run it. I'd drop a piston in there, and see how she goes. Worst case, the chrome flakes off and you have to replace the cyl anyway at a later time.
