Working on a 041 stihl, and dealer says the seal inside the oil pump drive is NLA. Can i use a o-ring?

I'd say go with number 11.

Part 15 is still available from Stihl (not just surplus from Anderson). I'm not sure what part he's looking for.

Yea 15 is the part, i have the outer ring out. I got the brown, dryed rubber looking stuff out and it looks like a regular seal shell.

My dealer is a great guy and Im sure he wants to make all the money he can but twicw hes done that to me.I assume hes being told by the parts distributor or somebody above him that its NLA. Thats why it pays to come here.

I have learned with ordering car parts you are better off doing the research
if you can .As a lot of times the books are old or they dont read the foot notes
or just get in a hurry .and a lot of times guys just dont know were to look
and its easy to say its NA.

Stihl Chain Saw 041AV, 041FB, 041G Sealing Ring 12x16x3 (part # 96430031160).
I ordered this today, think its right, have no way to check part #.
The stihl dealer here are 2 women, not saying that makes a difference but maybe.
