Finally got around to reassembly of this saw. Couple of questions 1) the clutch shoe friction pads have disintegrated. Can I use without or stick something on? 2) going to instal an ignition chip but diagram shows two different wiring set ups for negative/positive ground. What do I have - I'm guessing negative.image.jpeg

Get new clutch shoes. They aren't cheap if still available but I doubt you would have satisfactory results with the old shoes. I never tried it though.
I can't remember how I wired my chip

Cheers for replies....as always just hoping for a cheap route! Anyways, she's back together and fired up so the wiring must be ok. Bit retarded on full throttle will investigate tomorrow.

Get a TS760 clutch they are the same fitment, and are easier to find. Some have no pads and work just fine. If you use your friction shoe clutch without it's pads, it will over stretch the springs.
Retarded on top speed?
Those have a flooder valve that prevents over reving.
