335xpt to 45cc cylinder

I picked up a 335xpt with low compression some years back. Just decided to rebuild it. I bought the 45cc upgrade piston and cylinder kit. I have a few questions. What should thye ring end gap be? I have .006 right now. Also it looks as tho there are two pulse lines on the cylinder where my original only had one on the bottom. Just looked at some pics of a 339. It looks like the second port is hooked to a compression release. So now my question is can I just cap that port off?
