346xp piston clearance

Guys,

Is a decent looking smooth piston with 0.008" clearance to the 42mm cylinder too much sloppy slap??

I have just bought a nice looking OEM cylinder and piston, but the piston measures 41.74 at the skirt....

Hmm..... Should I run it or buy a meteor?

My gut feeling is thats too much clearance. If it was a forged piston id say its still too much for thst bore size. Put it this way i set up liquid cooled ski motors at .004-005 with cast pistons on a 76mm bore and .008-.010 with forged pistons.

Yep I think as much. Ah well I will be buying a Meteor soon then..
