That looks like a 45 auto boolit. I have recovered DOZENS of FMJ pistol rounds shot into logs, dirt, etc that could almost be reloaded and fired again except for the grooves cut in the side of the bullet by the rifling.....
Fire a 45 auto HP into that same tree and the results would be drastically different.
