Built it for my brother in law last year, west coast faller so its got a few hours on it now. Non limited coil tuned to 14,000 .wasn't running lean at all a hair rich if anything.

It's an odd break........but I've seen rods broke just like that before.

That saw was limited at 13,000........I tune them to 13,500 using a 346 coil. Impossible to say if the rod was bad or what though.
 
Any idea what cause it? This saw is the next one on my wishlist.

Probably too much rpm...
Limited coils are good for the people who just look at a chainsaw as just a "tool". It keeps them from over revving the saw from bad carb tuning. My bud who owns a small logging company with a couple of guys working for him has yet to break a 372 crank that had a blue coil in it. His guys were always able to burn up/break cranks that didn't have them.
