Dear honorable gentleman. I have just arrived to this splendid forum, seeking humbly your vise advice…. Longtime watcher, first time poster.
So I am not professional; I am homeowner with hungry wood burning stove, some land with orchard and some minor activity in my surroundings. I am standard hobbyist.
So far, I have collected several pieces of cheapo hardware to serve for my needs. Husky 340, 345, vintage Dolmar-Sachs 100 for the smaller stuff and semi-serious Husky 262XP.
I am fortunate enough, to be able to upgrade now. Target is to get serious slicer in small package. I will eventually sell all of my old junk and go for (wife story) for „one saw plan“ solution. Decision was made, Husky 562XP.
Local dealership, my body build and the work I do; also my experience with the brand, clear choice.
Now for the 562XP gear – to what chain, bar combo in 20” should I go? Earlier on on this website, it was common understanding that the
Techlite bar is THE bar for 562. But here, in this particular thread, no mentioning. No longer relevant? Techlite is locally available.
Also, my dealer just stocked in
X-Force lineup of bars and those are promoted as the new go-to bars.
Chains – how about the X-Force chains?
I do lots of soft wood (pine, spruce – total 60%) some hard wood (Oak, beech, walnut – total 30%) some orchard work – about the remaining 10%.
Question. Shall I choose one set for dirty work (sand, ground dirt) and clean work (slicing clean logs for my wood burner) – swapping those as per my conditions? Then what is your recommendation for each scenario?
THANK YOU!!!
