In a past life woodworking and older logging tools were my passion, identifying a run of the mill Disston with a legible logo was easy. As for value, meh? I know a few folks who collect/use them, mostly U.S.F.S. folks but there's not a huge market. Once society collapses I think they'll be worth a lot more, though.....That was quick!
Is there a market for such saws, apart from restaurants that want to hang cool old stuff on the walls? I have an old 2-man saw that has been in the family since it was new. My wife's family has one as well, along with the log cabin they probably made with it.
