I have an older 670 with two piece coil and I need to rebuild the carb.

Does anyone know what carb is on it and is there anything I can substitute - like a 272xp carb?

Both are in the Tillotson HS family, but the 272 carb won't work. 670 carb has a separate impulse line and the 272 carb is impulsed through the plastic intake block. Also the hi idle is set with the choke lever on the 670 while the 272 has the throttle lock above the trigger.

Get a RK23 HS carb kit. Old Tilly's never die just need a little petting.

Also, many of the 670's use a recirculating carb, so if you do replace the carb with a non-recirculating one, you'll have to plug the return hole in the handle/tank assembly.
