I love doing storm damage cleanup with saws, and enjoy seeing pics. I haven't ever thought of taking any pics, but seen blsnelling's hurricane vid on YouTube and thought i'd post to see if anyone had any. Anyone have any they care to share? Hurricane, tornado, ice storm, wind, anything. Recent or older.....doesn't matter.

This Silver Maple made for an interesting day back when Ohio got hit by all those wind and ice storms late winter 08/09. Was suprisingly easier than expected however!

This was an ASH that got layed over by heavy winds this winter...bucked it into firewood and saved one 10ft log out of it for the farmer to mill.

This beech came down in the same windstorm as the above ash. Getting it on the ground so I could work with it was a bit of a chore, and a little sketchy too!

Here are two other windfall trees that I will "harvest" for firewood next season. These came down this winter also.

A little more controlled than "Saw for Hire":

For some reason when looking at that photo I am imagining one of those "Craig's List - Laughs" where the homeowner says you must have insurance, I won't pay you to remove it but you can have the wood for free!

I would love the hear how you removed this one!

An offroad man-lift helped a lot, cut a few 8x8 post legs to support the tree as we took off piece by piece. Had to re-situate the rope a few times but it came down nicely.

I'd imagine there ought to be a bunch of gnarly pics. This was one of the gnarly-er winters I can remember as far as freezing rain followed by nasty wind storms. I'd bet Arborists in Central Ohio made a killing. I know I had all kinds of friends calling me to do side-jobs for them on weekends!

These are from the tornado from last May. I have been cutting wood when I can get out in this area. I need to take a camera with me, but I always remember it after I have left the house. I deliver alot along the path that it took and there is still so much destroyed and scattered that I have to wonder if it will ever get cleaned up.

November, 2008, and there is a road underneath. I took this after the water had dropped a bit. 2 days later, the load made it to the mill, with the help of another truck towing it.

That is awful :(

Hopefully it was an International Tractor not a KW, Pete or Western Star lol!

Windthrown has a pic of downed timber from the coast of Orygun, acres and acres of snapped off Doug Firs, with any luck he still has it and will share it with us.

Came across these a while back and thought they were pretty cool. This all happened in one night. I was kept awake by the sound of breaking and falling trees and exploding transformers. Got up the next day to find this.

This is the road leading to the place I lived in '96
