got on northern tool and see they have small mill for 20" or less bars. with the price of lumber, that and the board maker thing they also sale, think i could probably build my new deck this year out of oak. most of my stuff is red oak, how does this weather? anyone here used it like this before, i am just curious. the 041 will drive this, i know it will be slow, but will still be fun when i am bored this summer. as if i have any free time!!

Yeah.

I use the Granberg Mini Mill Edger and the Small Log Mill. Here is a picture of an apple tree getting sawn up. I used an MS460 with the Small Log Mill and had an MS270 on the Mini Mill Edger.

Red oak

doesn't weather well at all. Plus you'll have a hard time keeping from twisting.
Make sure if you're making decking that you have consistent thickness. You'll either have a lot of planing to do or stubbed toes.:)
