One of our members is broke down on Interstate 81 near Roanoke. Pulling a trailer, and his transmission went out.

Mels is his username.

He has someone coming to help get him off of the hwy, but could probably use more help at this point.

He's a long way from home....

Wish I were closer.Va State Polce are good about helping stranded drivers and being in that area there are numerus options

Mel said he had some help from a Shovelhead forum he is a member of coming to help him get off the highway. He is a long way from home, and will likely need some more help though. I contacted Stihlbro, and he had me give Mel his phone number.

Roanoker494 is the only member that readily comes to mind in that area, but he has moved closer to Bristol. I think Calebng is in Wytheville, but that is still a fair hike.

Good to hear. Being broken down any time of the year is bad but now is worse.

Hope he gets where he is going safe. Nothing worse than being a long way from home and your destination and have car trouble. if he had been closer I would have been glad to have helped.

well crap.the chevy can't make it that far.i'm just below abington.if my ride wasnt using 1 quart of 20w-50 per 50 miles i'd be on my way.mels a good dude.i wish him Good Luck and a Merry Christmas.I'm sure the Shovelhead guys are taking care of him.the motorcycle community.whether Harley or other riders believe in taking care of their own.
