I wanted to share pics of my blacked out MS440. I was home for a couple months earlier in the year, like most people.

So to keep myself busy I did this:


I am using the saw, but it was built to sit on a shelf mostly.

I like it! Reminds me of an old streetrod that's painted flat black. Instead of ratrods, we need ratsaws!

Hutzl or Stihl?

A real Stihl saw. It needed bearings, seals, and a piston, so I had it all apart anyway.

No plasti dip. I used satin black tractor spray from tractor supply on the metal parts. All the plastic parts are Rit Dyed.

Ah cool. I guess the wrap handle threw me off, it looks identical to the one on a hutzl saw i worked on last week.

The wrap bar is a hutzl. And has a eBay skid plate that I modded to fit the wrap bar.

I like the Mac in your avatar, is that the 10-10? I would love to have a PM700, have no real need for it, but would still just love to have one. I suppose that's CAD starts....

I hear ya. The first thing I did was cut wood with it when I was completely done. My dad couldn’t believe I got it dirty.

I have plenty Huskys and J-Reds. Any models that you would like to see Blacked out? I still have a huge pot of dye and plenty of paint.

Besides I’d love to tell my wife, “I have too hun, someone on the forum requested it.”
