i want to buck logs for a firewood processor.

goal is a 15 inch log in 5 seconds. wood is fir/pine, so fairly soft. unlimited horsepower.

i know i cna do it with a chain. Can it be done easier with a band????

Chain or a circular, don't mess with band. They are too finicky, expensive, hard to find parts for, and not that fast! The only thing you gain with a band is less waste.

drmiller100 may be right but I never timed myself or tried to move fast and never had anything break but a bolt and they sent it out that day besides all I have to do is call. There is one more thing I believe it uses less fuel too.
