To tell the truth, it's rare for Dad and I to be in the woods together.
He's still running 120 cows on 450 acres (with my help)
Dad has plenty to keep him busy, but if I start milling some of this bigger
wood I may need him and his tractor....told him I thought a set of
forks for front loader would be a good idea :)

On the twisted grain, tree maybe rotten on the inside anyway,
not getting my hopes up.

Shumard Oak

Dad and I are still trying to clean up from the wind
storm. This Shumard Oak took out the ele. lines, snapped
off ele. poles and smashed water gap. This crotch is from
high in tree, tree is on neighbor's land (property line). Since we cut the top
of tree off water gap and repaired it, thought I would take this
short log. I did'nt climb creek bank to measure dia of log
but looks to be between 3 to 4 feet in dia.....Need to call him
and see if I can have it :) I like the smell of wood, but this
stuff Stinks!
