Well, welcome to the New Year.. New Decade.. whatever.

Just looked at the Stihl site (in Canada).. and a few changes.

The 361 is all but gone.. only the C-Q left which was not on the site only a day ago.

There are now 2 - 362 models, which were not there a day ago.. and 3 dealers did not have any literature on them yet (although I have seen a lot on here about them).

A 441C-M was added (not sure what the C-M means yet).

Hmmm.. not sure how the 362 compares to the older 361 yet.. but will see.

I think we may be no longer getting the German 361's by the looks of the site. But I was at a dealer only last Tuesday and the 361 had made in Germany on the front of it.. so will see.

For the U.S. users.. we are likely only catching up to what you have seen for a while.

Stihl throws a MS441 C-M saw on the early 2010 Market. It uses a full electronic Carburetor called "M-Tronic", no carb settings needed/possible.

The new MS 441 C-M chain saw is the first model to be equipped with “M-Tronic”. This electronic engine management system makes manual carburetor adjustments superfluous and automatically ensures optimum timing and fuel metering. This is reflected in a particularly convenient and much simpler starting procedure, optimum power delivery and spontaneous acceleration.

Thanks for info.

Reminds me of the 575/576xp Autotune........

Treeclimber, was that made in germany MS361 you seen and ARTIC model? Because all the other 361's I've seen around here are made in the USA.

Gee can't remember but will try to drop in dealer on Monday, as he will still have one. May have been.

I do know all of our 260's, 441's, etc are German made.. If my brother didn't borrow both of my 361's I would run out and take a look at one (as I usually have one in my diesel truck).

Either Arctic, or at least a heated handle one, is my guess. The heated ones have a metal handlebar, and are only made in Germany.

Afaik, most Canadian 361s are US made ones, with a different muffler.

If the Serial Number starts with 1 = Germany Made
...........................................2 = USA Made

that sounds awesome... If the carb will be able to compensate for mods done to the saw this may be the single greatest inovation to come around in a long long time. Keep us posted with any more info you get. ty.

Somehow, I don't think mods will work well on those saws, but I could of course be wrong (again - LOL).......
