Canned fuel or ethanol free gas?

I normally run 40:1 mix in my saws. I live in a small town. I have seen canned fuel but do you think I can buy ethanol free gas at MFA? I hate runnin ethanol through my saws.

I can't buy E-Free gas in my area. Several AF members say that it's not a big deal to use it. I currently use canned fuel.

Even using canned fuel, I still empty the fuel tank and run my machines at idle until they die.

The canned stuff is OK to leave in there unless the saw is being put up for a real real long time. Best is don't dump it out, but fill it up, less airspace in the tank.

For me, it can be rather long periods of non-use for my equipment.

It's just as easy for me to dump it back into the can and save it for future use.

Since you opened the can it really does not matter anymore if you store it in the can or in the saw.

The can "seals" when you screw the cap back on it. The saw's tank isn't sealed as it's open via the vent. I never empty saws out but I try to not go for more than a few months without use. If it has been a long time, I empty the tank and refill it with fresh fuel before use. I always use non-ethanol fuel.
If someone is having a hard time finding non-ethanol fuel, a good source is the driver that delivers fuel. Or call a terminal and they'll know who gets what mix. Just tell them what you're trying to find out and why. We've all seen tankers at gas stations. Go chat with the guy.

Cleaning out an empty fuel container is a lot easier than cleaning out a gummed up carb.

I don't leave fuel in any of my OPE. That's just the way I am and I ain't gonna change.

I have to say, the only carbs I have had to clean and rebuild in the last several years were for friends and things like the pressure washer or snow blower sometimes 7 or 8 months without being used. If the canned fuel was in the 6 bucks or so a gallon price I might bite but at 20+, no way.

I'm old enough to remember gasoline long before ethanol came along. I can still remember cleaning out plenty of carbs from lawn mowers to motorcycles, when I was much younger.

Ethanol or not, if stored long enough and under less than perfect conditions, gas will gum up.

I hear you! I have quite a bit of canned fuel on hand to last me for a while, and it was all free.

But, when it's gone, I'm going back to pump gas, full-synthetic oil, and I'm not going to worry about it.

I have all kinds of E Free gas 10 minutes from me at marinas. Its nice living by lakes.

I always try to buy a tank of e-free gas when I'm out of town but now that I realize I can get it locally, that will stop. I always add a drop of Seafoam to my gas too.

Living in Kookfornia it was always difficult to find Ethanol Free. However, after moving here to Utah last year I can find it relatively easily. In fact, I have two stations in my town that sell Clear 88, and one even sells Clear 100.
I've been running it in my 2007 GMC, and it makes better power, and the fuel economy is 50+ per tank full over Ethanol fuels. Clear 88 cost me $6 more at fill up (avg 20 gal), but the additional mileage savings is over $10.
Yes, I run it in all of my OPE, as well.

Conoco 91 premium is eth free in Missouri. That site doesn't list all sources and most clerks don't know what they are selling.

I have a Sinclair dealer 2 blocks from my house that has E-Free premium. Also noticed a lot of Kum and Go's have E-Free premium around here.
