Today the remainder of the Catalpa was milled. As you view the photos notice the electrical wire in the crotch area & the ice still inside.

Beautiful log there, and thanks for the great pictures! What is it like milling that wood, otherwords is it really hard or soft, quick to mill or really tough on chains? I have never milled it before.
 
Very easy to mill. I got through the whole log without a need to sharpen, 9 passes total. Each pass took about 10 minutes, slabs are 13' long 3" thick 42" wide at butt about 52" at crotch.
