Central Boiler price drop?

My Central Boiler dealer informed me that the price of a replacement digital controller has been dropped from over $100 to around $40. Anybody know why? Did they switch to a Chinese supplier, or just technology advances and manufacturing efficiency?

Good question, I have'nt heard anything about it. Figures... I still have a new spare in the box that I paid full boat for when I bought the boiler 4 years ago!
