I'll try this again... Maybe with some pics I'll get at least ONE reply! :)

Anyone ever used one of these? It's a Nielsen 6G. It runs good, but I know nothing about it.

Another interesting tidbit. The chain vise only has one degree marking on it. 0 degrees. I'm sure I can scratch some other markings into it if needed, but isn't this odd? Is this a specialty shapener?

I can't seem to find anything about it on the 'net.

Lemme know what ya'all think!

So... is it an older cheap copy? It seems to be very tight. I haven't put an indicator on it yet, but I can't feel any play in it. The whole machine is made out of metal... no plastic in this one.

I'm wondering if this was a predacessor (sp) to the 511a, or if it was an American copy?

When I do a search for Nielsen, I see that the wheels are still being sold. I haven't bothered to measure them yet, but I THINK they're interchangeable with the 511a and the Maxx Grinders.

by the looks of it i say 1970s 1960s model of a sharpener
