with a new chain this morniong i set out to test diferent filing profiles cutting times. i forgot to do a controll test with it when it was new.

saw: 026AV, engine: 49cc, chain: 0.325",

chain 10* = 61.80 square inches per minute
skip chain 10* = 60.98 square inches per minute
skip chain 25* = 78.60 square inches per minute
special 10* = 75.60 square inches per minute
special 25* = 90.6 square inches per minute

saw: MS170, engine: 30cc, chain: 3/8 low profile chain

= 73.20 square inches per minute

special: the chain was ground with a 4" angle grinder to prduce a finish similar to the grangerg chain, (2 scoring cutters, 2 scrapeing cutters) i then ground the scoring cutters to 10* and then 25* leaving the scraper cutters at 5-10*.

skip tooth chain: is simply regular chain with half the teeth ground of, ( 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off) ground to 10* then 25*
