I'd say that you should call them up, or stop by, and tell them that they need to return the wood they stole or you will call the police. That was theft, plain and simple.
Agreed!This is a ridiculous blanket statement IMO. There may be some bad churches out there.
It is a disgrace when people take advantage of good people all in the name of God.
Just to clarify, The Lady and I are decades together but not married. That said, with firewood we have an equitable division of labor and assets. Wood is mine until it is hauled, cut and split. Then it is ours. After it is stacked it becomes hers!I always tell my wife to use me as an excuse if she ever wants to get out of anything but yeah, that does sound patronizing suggesting she talk to you first doesn't it ? If I said that to SWMBO, I'd probably get The Look, then an elbow somewhere sensitive.
