Clutch Sticking

Oki Dolmarjay,

Very easy, put some piece of rope in exhaust port or by spark plug hole to stop the piston in the high position (lock crank). remove spring in the clutch with pry bar (be carefull) and use grip to spins off clutch in clockwise direction. Check on owner's manual for parts order.

Wouldnt it make more sense to use a nylon rope through the spark pluh hole?

Isnt there a simple too made especially for this job? little plastic or metal thing, threads into the plug hole, and stops the piston from passing TDC.

Ive always had luck using a modified flathead screwdriver and a hammer...but we wont talk about that..

Yep, and they pop a nice round shiny hole in the top "O" yer piston.:bang:



Sometimes you get lucky and it just rips the threads out of the jug, but usually not.

I grip the center arm (threaded) and with prybar between jaw's grip turn clockwise.
