Conflicting info (Jred 2150/Husky 350/450e), set me straight!
Hi all,
I am looking at buying either the Jonsered 2150, or the Husky 450e. I have been receiving quite a lot of conflicting information.
The Husky dealer says the Huskies are the "Premium" of the market and made slightly better than the Jonsereds. He also says the new 450e's have a plastic crankcase and they haven't had any trouble with them since they came out.
The Jonsered dealer says the 2150 doesn't have a plastic crankcase, is the same as equivalent Husky and that "no-one uses a plastic crankcase". He also says spare parts for the Jonsered are cheaper. And the 2150 comes with a primer and decompressor (same as the new 450e Husky)
But, I have also heard that the 2150 is (more or less) the same as the Husky 350 which uses the older style (if there even is such a thing) metal alloy crankcase, rather than the new 450e (supposed) plastic crankcase.
Can anyone verify this information? I read on here the other day that, contrary to the Husky dealers information, Jonsereds are actually at the premium 10% of the market as far as raw materials go, even though they are made in the same place.
