Hello!

I have just bought myself a used Stihl 044, seemed in a good condition.
However paint in the oil tank seems to be coroded, in some places it comes off when scraped with a screw driver. It is not flaking.
I'd think it can clog the oil filter.
Any idea how to proceed?20231019_180439.jpg20231019_180435.jpg20231019_180427.jpg

Clean out the big chunks and flush with brake cleaner, let dry. What’s left won’t be enough to clog the oil pickup. Just keep an eye on it a couple times a year…flush out as needed.
