If it has deep radial bearings (most saws), zero perceptible play.

if it has roller bearings - like the 200T etc, plenty of end float and often a very small radial movement.

Thanks Andy, i thought as much. Its a MS340 with abit of play clutch side bearing so i will get it replaced. The saw is nice and worth it. Just in the process of redoing two 036's one MS model. Thanks again you are the best.
