Dolmar 5100/ Makita DCS5001 Differences

Im not convinced "YET" .1 hp but the same KW figure

Its the same crankshaft listed for the ps5000 as the 5100 so im betting the makita has the same.
The coil is different yes but is 14500 and 13500 limited speed going to make any difference in the wood!

I have found the Dolmar ipl but no luck with the makita version

I can't quite work out why only the US gets the Hot Rod version ??

Look here - it is not the same crank in the 5000 and the 5100, but it is the same in the 5100 and 510.

why settle for a dcs5001


or maybe do some fishing across the pond for a friendly dolmar dealer... and be the coolest kid on the block with a 5100

I guess not, except that it revs higher - forget the hp/bhp numbers, stick with the kW ones......

The big question is does it rev higher in the wood?
You could borrow the wifes one ant see if it pulls more than 13,500 while cutting

I guess that only means something when limbing small limbs - but then again it isn't an acceleration champ, so that isn't its forte anyway.....

....actually I prefere the NE346xp by a wide margin.
