There does not seem to be enough room between the handle
and the chain-lock bar on my CS-400. I removed the
clutch cover, but cannot find a way to adjust the chain
lock mechanism. I have removed the handle and tried
bending it further back away from the chain-lock bar
with little improvement.

My plan B is to remove the chain-lock mechanism unless
I can find a better solution. It's a Royal Pain when the
chain locks sporadically as I cut.

All help appreciated.

Are you wearing gloves? I find gloves are not helpful for properly handling saws, although you do get colder weather!
Do you have big hands?

Either way, removing chain brake sounds dangerous.

Looks like the handle is bent forward a bit at the bottom
left side putting the top closer to the chain-lock lever.
I have straightened it a bit, and much of the problem is
now gone. Just cut down and up several big, dead pines
with only a couple of inadvertent chain lockups.

Better and better day by day.
