Except for one model, all Stihl battery chainsaws are cheaper than this, often considerably so.

I don't know what game Yamabiko is playing here, but their pricing policy has been suicidal to say the least over the past few years.

What is the cost of the DCS-1600 ?

RRP is €490 including VAT here. The local dealership still hasn't any nor has anybody ordered one so they don't know how much, if anything, they can shave off.
By comparison a Stihl MSA140 is €370 including VAT. Both come with battery and charger.

I am sure in the US it will be very competitively priced but that's not the case here.
