I recently picked this up for almost nothing, close to brand new condition but it wouldn't run. I rebuilt the carb with an oem zama kit, and now it will start kind of, but won't run. I can keep it running longer id I keep it choked or half choked, but I still cant use it. I'm mostly familiar with chainsaw carbs, this one is different. Has a barrel with a cylinder inside with and opening that turns when I hit the throttle. Any guess where to go from here?

the other confusing thing is that I'm not quite sure that I had the 2 lines out of the primer bulb correct. I reversed them to see if that was part of the problem but no change. ( the odd thing is that the bulb fills up with fuel just fine both ways)
Fuel starvation
this carb only has an idle adjustment! If that were the case, the only thing I can think to be the cause could maybe be the fuel filter?

thanks, I'm gonna start by replacing fuel filter and If that doesn't solve it I get to play with fire! and remove the little black plug!
Could be an air leak at the carb intake too
This tiny screw is hidden near the primer
Bulb and seems to be the high speed jet. Lucky me, it was exposed, no need to remove a plug. Running better now. Thanks for the YouTube link!
