Does anyone know the drive shaft material used on the Echo PPT-265 Pole saw?

Tanaka uses a steel shaft with lifetime warrantee...

Sthil HT101 and HT131 reportedly use an aluminum drive shaft with no warranty...

...and the Echo PPT-265 / PPT-280 has a 5 year warranty...but no information on what material they use for the drive shaft.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

I have a ppt260 that i've had for about 6years,used the hell out of it and no problems so far.I pulled the shaft one time to lube it, and has far as i can remember it's steel.I looked at all the pole saws at the time,to me the echo was by far the best choice.

I just received an email from Wise Sales, an Echo distributor in IL who confirmed that the drive shaft on both the PPT-265 and PPT- 280 are made of steel.
