check out this FAQ i found on the poulan site

Where does the engine oil go?
All Poulan two-cycle products require oil to be added to the gas. Unlike engines that have separate gas and oil reservoirs, two-cycle engines run on a gas/oil mixture that keeps the engine lubricated at all times. Never use straight gas in a two-cycle engine; straight gas will ruin the engine within minutes.
Don't forget your chain saw also has a bar oil reservoir. Bar & Chain oil is used in this reservoir only. Do not fill the Bar & Chain oil reservoir with 2 cycle engine oil.

sounds reasonable considering the average chainsaw knowledge level of a person that cuts wood with a poulan. :D

Hey! I resent that. :) My saw armory includes a (Poulan) AC 195 and a Crapsman model of an early Poulan Micro. Both are good '60s saws.

i figured a lot of people would:p no offense. lol

PS. you just have them and dont cut wood with them right?;)

they buy the nikasil lined cylinders etc. as well? - let me guess - the ONLY difference is the color.

Tundraotto I have a 70's poulan DA 25 also. I love that little saw, except the auto oiler doesnt work. Must be a good design since they sold over a million of them.

Oh yeah, that would be the same as the Husqvarna 23 Compact, which my dad in law has and will cut up to 20inch logs as good as any small saw out there. But i did dump my woodshark which was a piece of crap because it would not start without 40 pulls when hot
