Hey Y'all,

I have a wood stove insert from the late 70's/early 80's called "The Choice." It has a blower and does a decent job of heating, but it really eats up a lot of wood and I struggle to keep the heat rolling without constantly having to adjust the logs in the stove.

Is there a good wood burning insert that I can use to heat my house that y'all would recommend?

Largest stove that will physically fit inside the fireplace.

I use a quadrafire 4100i

Anything newer is going to be more efficient than a 40 year old stove. I personally would avoid a catalytic stove.

I have a Pacific Energy insert for the past six years. I am very happy with it. Uses very little wood, I keep the damper down low. In the fall when I clean the liner, I end up with about a quarter cup of gray ash. I think it is very efficient, but maybe it's just me
