the other day i noticed that the filter cover on my 038 super only has a small opening in it to feed the filter. has anybody put extra holes in the cover on there saw before??? any drawbacks???

consider for what??? i was just going to put some more holes in the cover and maybe put some screen behind them.

From the airbox to the muffler outlet....where is the bottleneck?
Seen some 460 and 660's with holes drilled in the covers on some crummies around here.

Easy test.... take off the filter cover and see it it cuts faster... it will be louder, so measure....

OIC... i just knew that alot of people had talked about the stock filter on 038's to be a crappy setup. the outlet in the filter box is prob one tenth the area of the filter (both sides).

Buy a cover somewhere cheapo and drill it to hearts content. Then cut 'till ya drop.
