I firmly believe that the first step to understanding anything is measuring it.
Doesn't always work. Tried measuring my wife just before we got divorced.:dizzy:

Seriously, when selling firewood, a MM is almost a must. Now when people ask if my wood is dry, I can give them a number instead of an opinion, which as we all know, only has value to the opinion giver.

Of course, the meter has to be used correctly or it is useless. Same as any other tool.
