Right on!

My long term goals are to clear 3 acres and mill the wood for my bride and my retirement home. (must clear 3 acres to make room for the pond).

That is really cool. There is about a quarter acre below my house that I've been slowly clearing. Long term plan is the guy who owns it wants a pond there. It will be stream fed and also fed by runoff from all the fields around the house.

Yep that is white oak. I have 2 3/4" white oak floors. My favorite looking wood.

few days late

Son helped me hang 2 of the planks today (shame to drip bar oil all over them) Hey I need at least another 4 or 5 saws to fill the void!

I need to scrounge through the scrap drum at work, need 3 more brackets to hang the widest one down by my workbench.

Used the "new to me" 143 (top left) to cut the notches for the "poles"
(there are 2 of the notches holding up the nose heavy milling saws)

Left edges natural, I think there are too many things straight and level in this world. Call it the "charm" of self milled lumber. Mother Nature took the bark off for me:bowdown:

I will never look at a tree as just "firewood" ever again! Thanks Guys, like I need another addiction!

Starting to take shape you'll not have to worry about those shelves stressing under pressure from all the saws you'll end up having on them that ll give you an excuse to buy a few more cause the shelves look bare :) that's what id be saying to my missus anyway but she already knows what am like ..

Next

My next project will be an Island workbench made with 4" thick slabs from this.

Hope I don't get the chance to mill that old boy in my lifetime.

Let me know where you are. The big bar and I are coming over to mill that bad boy up. I have split a 60" oak before but milling that would be crazy.

This is the 3120 with 84" bar

Better that they have a big ash than a small woodpecker hiding out in the bush:hmm3grin2orange:
